Research Notes are created by combining 9 Knowledge Fragments in a crafting table. They will create a note that you must right click to identify. It will always give you a note for knowledge that you have not yet researched.
If you have researched everything, attempting to identify Research Notes will result in the note being destroyed, and some of the fragments used will be returned.
